Support consists of:

How many Certificates can I have?
Limits are one of those fuzzy things. It tends to depend on the equipment speed, equipment size,
number of concurrent users and age of your equipment.
We have tested the system with 20,000 Suppliers and 30,000 Certificates with no
appreciable
system degradation.
If you plan to use an SQL Server, then that number can go much higher.
CERTS was specifically designed to run as a Client/Server System.
The software ships with two Database Versions. Both can run on a server.
First is the Microsoft Access Database. Second, there is a backup copy of the
same Database for use with Microsoft SQL 2005 or above.
Once installed there is no difference on the operational features between the two Databases.
We dislike playing “Pay per User” game that most software developers play.
Therefore we have no limit on the number of network users, which assumes you have one
centralized database.
However each user must have CERTS installed on their machine and the same version of MS Access.
And if you get over 5 concurrent users MS Access tends to slow down. This is not the case with SQL.
So if you have a lot of users who need to lookup Supplier Information we suggest you think
about using our Web Module.
Who are some of your Customers?
What if I don't like the system?
{Shame on your!} If you determine that the software will not meet your needs within 60 days of purchase,
we will refund your full purchase price.
We do ask that you return the install disk and users guide along with a letter stating why the software
did not meet your needs, and specifically stating that all copies have been removed and erased.
C.E.R.T.S. maintains extensive reports so you will probably not require custom reports.
But just in case, C.E.R.T.S. lets you selectively extract data to an Excel File.
Then building a report in Excel is relatively simple.
Also since the Database is open you can also use MS Access to build queries and reports if you
have a basic knowledge of Access.
If all else fails then contact Springwater Software and we may be able to build you a customized report.
What about archiving old Certificates?
You may archive your old certificates on a yearly basis (i.e. archive files are created on a yearly boundary).
In fact you can archive a certificate and use that same certificate to fill in data on the new certificate.
This saves a lot of typing on your part.
Can I import from my current Excel Data?
There is an import utility that ships with the C.E.R.T.S. System Administrator.
It is limited to importing Supplier information only. The reason for this limit is due to the fact that
C.E.R.T.S. is a relational Database, not a flat file.
Thus it becomes almost impossible to convert a flat file to a
relational database without custom programming.

Why not use one of the Outsourcing Services?
(I thought you would never ask!) Think about this, first you do NOT own the data,
no matter what they tell you.
You can’t selectively extract data for custom reporting. You can’t generate custom letters,
or letters to a specific group of Suppliers.
You have little on no control over filtering your data (like all non-compliant Suppliers,
or all Suppliers in a given state, or all Suppliers working on a specific project, or all
Suppliers by Contract Type, etc.).
With C.E.R.T.S. you have a true relational Database that you can customize to fit your changing needs.
And with C.E.R.T.S. you can change the System as your needs change.
You have all of the functionality of a real Database, like queries, filters, exports, custom reports, etc.
